GUIDES

Granny's Travel Guides: South Drizzlewood Coast

Drizzlewood Coast, a heavily forested area with the Dominion and the United Legions fighting against each other, but it is still a magnificent place to go. So much beauty seems to be wasted and damaged from the civil war that is going on between them. It can be fast-paced because of the timing between events with places to go at a moment's notice. There is only one waypoint in all of South Drizzlewood Coast, but there is hope. To get around to the events quickly, each area listed has a helicopter pad close, so go to the helicopter pad and parachute jump to the next area. This is the best way to travel to each event and where you need to go.

Getting into Drizzlewood coast has been made easy with multiple options.

  • The story instance No Quarter: Go to the Eye of the North and follow the storyline.
  • Stepping into the Cold War strike mission and then getting out. Choose Cold War mission then leave through the portal - it will ask you if you would like to return to Drizzlewood Coast - say yes.
  • Getting the Drizzlewood coast Portal Scroll and/or the Icebrood Saga Portal Tome. They can both be bought at the Karma vendor in Bjora Marches.
  • Or just teleport to a friend that is already there.

Note: This guide will be describing one area at a time, going in a clockwise fashion.

Southern side (Released with Episode 3: No Quarter)

Umbral Grotto

Umbral Grotto is a well forested camp to form up your army and get ready for battle. It is surrounded by mountains as protection for the encampment. There are many things to do and prepare here including the meeting center where Episode 3 occurred. Getting to know the people in the area will give insights on what is to be accomplished.

  • Vloxen Shards - Take the north exit from Umbral Grotto and move through the path on the west fighting your way through to the point of interest.
  • Vloxen Mine is south of the Vloxen Shard through the Mine Front gate.

Leadfoot Village is north across the bridge from Fort Defiance, follow the road to the northwest to get there. It is a lot like Umbral Grotto because it has two entrances and is engulfed between the coast, mountain sides, and forest. There could be an issue with just meandering through the village because it may be full of Dominion foe during an event.

Points of interest:

  • Iceshard Trail is north from the Leadfoot Village Northeast Vista. Follow the coastline to the waterfall.
  • Leadfoot Village is directly in the middle of the town. If it is full of foe, I would suggest gliding/flying over the center to get the POI or just join in the battle!

Point of interest:

  • Petraj's Rest POI is southwest of Wolf’s Crossing on a ledge above the basin. A tent with bedding at the POI can be found. It is a wonderful place to view the waterfalls.

South of Port Cascadia there is a bridge and a road to Petraj Overlook. The heavily forested southern route is a beautiful area to walk through. Between the awesome waterfalls both on the beach and up on the southern mountains, there is a sigh of relief and quietness looking at the scenery. Remember not to stand in an area too long though, because you will be sought out by the dominion snipers.

Points of interest:

  • Griffon's Pillar is on the beach south of Port Cascadia and will be received when you move up to it. No need to climb to the top except for the curious carving and charr chest.
  • Griefshadow Falls is easily accessible from Griffon’s Pillar by moving south around the beach to the falls. There is a charr chest and things to farm behind the falls.
  • Petraj Commons following the road south of Port Cascadia, roam around to the west. Stay to the right side and move up to the commons.
  • Greattree Hamlet is north of the common area. Go through the gate on the east side of the building. Beware you will be attacked when leaving this area.
  • Mistgate Graveyard is out to the south of the Petraj Commons. It is surrounded by a forest and a waterfall down the southern mountains.
